Making changes to your car insurance policy

If something changes during your policy term, it’s important to let us know as soon as possible. Keeping your details up to date helps make sure you’re properly covered and avoids problems if you ever need to make a claim.

Most changes can be requested quickly and easily using our online chatbot.

How to make changes to your cover

You can request changes to your policy via our online PizzaChat, which is available during normal working hours.

PizzaChat can help you with:

  • Updating personal details

  • Adding or removing drivers

  • Changing your vehicle

  • Updating your address

  • Changing the use

  • Making other policy-related changes

Once you’ve made a request, we’ll process it and confirm any updates and any premium changes.

Important: Do not assume your cover has changed just because you’ve made a request. Your new cover is only active once you’ve received confirmation. Where new documentation is issued, then it will be available on the customer portal, MyPizza.

How do I change my personal details?

If your name, contact details, or other personal information changes:

  • Use the online chatbot during working hours

  • Submit your request with the correct updated details

  • Where there is a name change we may require evidence and an up to date copy of your driving license.

We’ll confirm the change once it’s been processed.

Can I suspend/pause my insurance policy?

Insurance policies cannot usually be suspended/paused.

However, depending on your situation, you may be able to:

  • Cancel your existing policy

  • Take out a new policy when you need cover again

If you’re unsure, the online PizzaChat or our support team can help explain your options.

How do I add a driver to my policy?

Adding a driver is simple:

  • Request the change via PizzaChat during working hours

  • Provide the new driver’s details when prompted

We’ll let you know if there’s any change to your premium.

Important: The new driver is not insured until you receive an updated certificate of motor insurance.

How do I change the vehicle on my policy?

If you change your car:

  • Use the online chatbot to request the vehicle change

  • Have the new vehicle registration and details ready

We’ll confirm whether the change is accepted and issue updated documents.

Important: Do not drive the new vehicle until you have received confirmation. Where new documentation is issued, then it will be available on the customer portal, MyPizza.

How do I change my address?

If you move home, you’ll need to update your address:

  • Request the change via PizzaChat during working hours

  • Make sure your new postcode is correct

  • Think about where your vehicle is parked, for example Public Road, Driveway or Garage

Address changes can affect your premium, so it’s important to tell us as soon as possible.

How do I change the use of my vehicle?

If the way you use your vehicle changes, it’s important to tell us as soon as possible. This helps ensure your policy remains valid and that you’re correctly covered.

Examples of changes in use include:

  • Changing from Social, Domestic & Pleasure to Commuting

  • Adding or removing Business Use

  • A change in how often or how far you drive for work

To request a change of use:

  • Use PizzaChat during normal working hours

  • Select the option to make a policy change

  • Provide details of how your vehicle use has changed

We’ll review your request and let you know whether the change is accepted and if it affects your premium.

Important: Do not assume your cover has changed just because you’ve made a request. Your new use is only insured once you receive confirmation.

After you’ve requested a change

Once your request has been processed:

  • You’ll receive confirmation by email

  • Updated policy documents will be available to view and download via MyPizza

  • Your new certificate of motor insurance will confirm when the change takes effect

Top tip: Always wait for confirmation before driving under any new terms. If you’re ever unsure, we’re here to help.
